Academic qualification fraud in Hong Kong is on the rise in recent years. Even experienced HR managers were unable to identify fraudulent university degree certificates. What’s more, there are no common platforms for employers to verify the integrity of job seekers’ qualifications effectively. To tackle this problem, the team came up with the idea of our Acredemic-chain platform after being introduced to the blockchain technology, which has risen in popularity. Verified issuers from institutions could issue certificates to respective holders through the platform, while employers could view and verify the integrity of job seekers’ qualifications as verifiers. The data of the qualifications could be stored in the blockchain with these procedures, ensuring the legitimacy of the holders’ qualifications.
