Overview

As the novel coronavirus epidemic continuously rages, implementing and carrying out ""Blended Learning"" teaching mode has become a better way to meet students' learning needs with the resumption of face-to-face classes. Blended learning emphasises the integration of online technology learning and traditional teaching, using two learning courses in teaching design, realising an efficient learning environment, optimising learning and teaching at home or at school, and planning student-centred learning in order to improve student learning efficiency.

This open lesson aims at sharing how blended learning enhances the effectiveness of English learning and teaching in terms of curriculum planning, teaching methods and assessment strategies. It also shares how the use of different e-learning platforms and applications such as Microsoft Teams, Nearpod, Quizlet and Flip would help consolidate learning objectives, check students' mastery, and give immediate feedback, strengthen teacher-student/student-student interaction, create an interactive learning environment, cater for individual learning differences and cultivate students' 21st century ability.
