'Right to Read' — Create a Barrier-free Learning Environment

SEN Theatre

Overview

Hong Kong Blind Union has been operating the ‘Jockey Club E-Learning for All Project’ for over a decade to assist students and adults with print disabilities (including those with special learning needs such as visual impairment, hearing impairment, physical impairment and dyslexia) in making good use of e-learning to eliminate barriers to reading and learning. The speaker would like to share about the current learning barriers in Hong Kong and experience on how to help these persons, and look forward to the future development of relevant service. As an international treaty — The Marrakesh Treaty comes into force in Hong Kong, it is also time for us to discuss how to promote the ‘Right to Read’ for the persons with print disabilities.
