Cultivating Students' Creativity through Generative Machine Learning

Overview

Creative thinking and imaginative capabilities are important skills that students need to possess in the 21st century. These abilities are even more important when it comes to innovation. If teachers are exploring ways to cultiviate students' creativity, this workshop may be suitable for you. Through this workshop, teachers will learn how to use generative AI techniques as an exploration activity to improve students' creativity and imaginative capabilities. The speaker will introduce different generative AI tools such as AI driven style transfer, deep fake, Generative adversarial network (GAN), to arouse artistic imagination in classrooms. Teachers will gain the experience of using AI tools and techniques (e.g. GANs) across various forms of media including text, image, video and music. The workshop also offers teachers a chance to understand ethical issues incurred in generative AI.
