A Better Campus Together – Design Thinking Integrated STEM+ Project for the Cultivation of Empathy, Creativity and Problem-Solving Skills

Overview

The teaching focus of this STEM + project not only lies on the end product itself, but also emphasises on students’ utilisation of design thinking and the balancing act of various design pressures (including human needs, behaviour, technology and sustainability). The whole process is a collaborative process, where participants will experience the five elements of design thinking: Empathy, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Testing. Constructed through vigorous discussions and testing, the project has resulted in considerate designs and fostered the participants’ empathy, creativity, and problem-solving skills along the way.
