Support Learning, Teaching and Assessment via the Effective Use of the Student Assessment Repository (STAR) and the Web-based Learning and Teaching Support (WLTS) Platforms

Overview

The Student Assessment Repository (STAR) is an online assessment platform, which encompasses an assessment item bank with more than 62,000 quality assessment items covering Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 3, and instant assessment reports on student performance. Teachers can make use of the instant assessment reports to review students’ learning situations, providing them with timely and focal feedbacks to enhance learning and teaching, as well as making reference to the learning resource kits available on the Web-based Learning and Teaching Support (WLTS) platform to arrange follow-ups and adjust strategies and plans in learning and teaching.

With a view to encouraging schools to incorporate the STAR and WLTS into their routine learning / teaching and school-based assessments as a regular and frequently-used learning, teaching and assessment tool, the platforms offer assessment tasks and learning / teaching resources covering Basic Competencies and the Full Curriculum of Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics, as well as strengthening and adding various functions in phases to continuously enhance learning and teaching effectiveness and cater for students' learning diversity.
